Bodin, a pioneer in organic farming

For 45 years, we’ve been passionately cultivating the art of rearing and selling exclusively organic poultry. In 1979, Jean Bodin, a farmer from the Vendée area of western France, sold his first organic chickens on local markets, and already showing his visionary mindset. Bodin has grown by remaining true to these values.
Today, in line with this commitment, Bodin is centered around 100% organic poultry farming in France. From feeding and rearing the poultry by our farmers through to selling it, each stage is guided by our desire to offer healthy food from a sustainable agricultural model with respect for all things living.
This is an ambition that we pursue every day and ensures our products are of high quality.
Our commitment, uplift together organic
Well-established organic farming in western France
Our poultry is fed on organically grown cereals and vegetables, grown without pesticides or chemical fertilisers. With the support of our cooperative, we ensure the quality and traceability of all the crops used to feed our poultry.
Our 122 organic poultry farmers in the west of France play a central role in our farming. They work closely with Bodin, not only because of their location but also because of their commitment, and they play an active part in the discussions and initiatives we carry out together to develop our farming practices and strengthen our commitments.
We work with partner sites located in the very heart of our breeding sites. They are specialists in their fields, meeting the stringent French specifications for organic poultry production in terms of animal welfare and quality.
Every one of our poultry products is the result of the passionate work of our 35 employees. From our head office in Ancenis (Loire-Atlantique) just outside Nantes, or out in the fields to meet our farmers or even our shops, we all share the same demand, from careful monitoring of the farms right through to the consumer’s plate: to ensure quality products.
