At Bodin, organic poultry has been the core of our business for over 40 years. This commitment is part of our ongoing drive to support local, sustainable organic farming.
For us, organic farming is much more than a certification. It is an end-to-end, consistent and high-standard approach that guides all the work we do.
And when we talk about organic farming at Bodin, it represents a complete ethos based on strong values: respect for life, collective commitment and sustainability.
Organic farming regulations in a nutshell
In France, organic farming is strictly governed by European and national regulations that ensure operations respect the environment and animal welfare.
For organic poultry, these regulations are founded on three main principles:
![]() | The poultry are fed a natural organic diet, without GMOs (<0.9%) or synthetic chemical fertilisers. |
| The quality of life of the poultry is central to their rearing conditions: the poultrys are reared in the open air and have more space in the hen houses. |
![]() | Rearing times are longer than in conventional farming. |
But we have chosen to go further than the regulations, in particular by caring for our poultry without using antibiotics and by favouring plant-based care and alternative medicine.

Audited organic farming certification
To obtain organic farming certification and be able to display the “AB” (Agriculture Biologique) logo, all those involved in organic poultry production are inspected by an independent, government-approved certification body.
The farms are inspected three times a year, including an in-depth visit to the agricultural holdings and all their activities, as well as sampling to verify compliance of crops or poultry feed, for example.
Our workshops are inspected at least once a year using the same protocol, and annual inspections can be supplemented by surprise visits.
The certification body that performs inspections at Bodin is Ecocert. Its certification appears on the packaging of our products as the number FR-BIO-01, under the “AB” logo (French organic certification) and Eurofeuille logo (European Union organic certification).
